New Vision English Hub Launch: Guest speakers announced!

On Thursday, 14th February New Vision English Hub will be holding an official launch event. Tickets can be acquired here.

Rt Hon Nick Gibb MP, Minister of State at the Department for Education

“Reading and writing are the foundations of education and once grasped can open up a world of literature and knowledge to young people. Our continued focus on raising standards means six-year-olds are reading better than ever before – and we are setting an international benchmark, with Australia looking to follow our lead on phonics.

This is a huge achievement, improving the lives and education of hundreds of thousands of children but we remain determined to make sure that not just most children, but every single child is able to meet his or her potential.”

Rt Hon Nick Gibb MP will talk about why the government are investing in the English Hubs programme.

Ruth Miskin CBE, Creator of Read, Write Inc.

Children who are quick to get out of the reading gate succeed at school – even those who seem to have the odds stacked against them. Ruth will talk about what leaders should do to make the teaching of reading their school's avowed core purpose.

Ruth Miskin is one of the UK’s leading authorities on teaching children to read. She has many years’ experience as a head teacher, teacher trainer, writer and consultant in phonics and literacy, working with primary and secondary schools throughout the UK and overseas. Ruth has been an adviser to the Government on many aspects of literacy teaching since 1997. She was awarded a CBE for services to Education in 2019.
