Partner School Programme

What is the Partner School programme?

Following an audit visit from the New Vision Hub, we will be able to offer some schools further intensive support under our Partner School Programme.

This free package of intensive support is delivered by our expert Literacy Specialist Team. A Literacy Specialist will be able to provide your school with 6 days of bespoke support which can include:

    • Support with writing an action plan
    • Advice on choosing and using phonics resources effectively
    • Support with planning phonics lessons
    • Lead on practice sessions with teachers and TAs
    • Observing lessons and offering feedback
    • Modelling teaching and team teaching

Partner Schools are also encouraged to access free training provided through the Hub.

Challenge Checklist

As a Partner School, we will support you to drive standards in reading teaching and early language development. We use the DfE's challenge checklist to guide our work, supporting schools to:

A. Teach with fidelity to an SSP programme

B. Make a strong start in Reception

C. Ensure cumulative progression of sounds and books

D. Build a team of expert reading teachers

E. Reach the lowest 20%

F. Build talking and listening into all activities across the whole day

G. Develop pupils’ listening comprehension and language by reading aloud and talking about stories, poems and non-fiction books

How can I become a Partner School?

Priority will be given to schools who can demonstrate a need for support and capacity to effect change. The need for support will be determined based on school context, including Pupil Premium figures, Ofsted rating and Phonics Screening Check results.
