Dame Ruth Miskin delivered such a positive training session for all our Newham schools. Headteachers and Reading Leaders were invited for a refresher on effective Phonics teaching. The schools felt more confident to lead Phonics and enjoyed networking with other schools in the borough. We looked at effective phonics teaching, how to assess children’s progress and most importantly how to coach and create an expert reading team. A really productive day to focus on all things reading!
